Traffic Freeflow has been operating in the Johannesburg Region since October 2005.
The pointsmen are deployed to various intersections that fall within the Johannesburg Metro
Police Department footprint. These areas include but are not limited to:
Sandton
Fourways
Bryanston
Midrand
Johannesburg CBD
Randburg
Parktown
Roodepoort
Rosebank
Sunninghill
The Johannesburg project consists of a mobile & a static team and
currently employs close to a 100 pointsmen.
The project is subsidized through funding from various corporate &
private enterprises and although various sponsors have come on board, the success of the
project has resulted in an increased demand for pointsmen. This presents an opportunity
for new additional sponsors to join the project, such as sponsors for Soweto, Johannesburg
South and a Schools team.
Sponsors contribute to the project via Corporate Social Investment and/or
Marketing funding. The Pointsmen are recruited and employed from various surrounding,
previously disadvantaged communities. The project therefore offers a significant contribution
to the upliftment of these communities.
